Terms of Use

Last updated: 9 February 2026

These Terms of Use ("Terms") govern your access to and use of MPFolio (the "Site"). By using the Site, you agree to these Terms.

1) About MPFolio

MPFolio provides a searchable dashboard of information disclosed in the UK Parliament Register of Members' Financial Interests, including historical views and change tracking between register releases.

MPFolio presents information for transparency and research purposes. It is not legal advice.

2) What we show (sources and provenance)

The Site displays information that is publicly available from Parliamentary publications, and may also include our structured representation of that information (for example: categories, dates, values, contributors/organisations, and "diffs" between releases).

We aim to:

  • show provenance (what register release a record comes from),
  • preserve the meaning of the source,
  • correct parsing/display errors when identified.

If there is a conflict between the Site and the underlying official publication, the official publication should be treated as the source of truth.

3) Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the Site in a way that breaks any law or regulation
  • attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Site, servers, database, or storage
  • interfere with, disrupt, or overload the Site (including scraping at a rate that harms performance)
  • use the Site to harass, defame, or unlawfully discriminate against individuals
  • upload or transmit malicious code or harmful content through any contact mechanisms

We may limit or block access if we reasonably believe your usage is harmful to the Site or other users.

4) Accounts (if applicable)

The Site may include administrative or restricted features. If you are provided an account, you are responsible for keeping it secure and for activity under that account.

5) Intellectual property

The Site's code, design, UI, and original content are owned by MPFolio or licensed to us, unless stated otherwise.

Public-sector information and Parliamentary publications are subject to their own terms and policies. Where we reproduce or transform publicly available register information, it remains attributable to its original source.

Where required, attribution should include: "Contains Parliamentary information licensed under the Open Parliament Licence v3.0."

You may share links to MPFolio pages. You may quote small excerpts for commentary or reporting, provided you include a link back to the relevant page and do not misrepresent the source.

6) No warranties

The Site is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.

While we work to keep the Site accurate and up to date, we do not guarantee that:

  • the Site will always be available or uninterrupted,
  • all data will be complete, error-free, or current at all times,
  • our parsing or categorisation will be perfect.

7) Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, MPFolio will not be liable for any losses or damages arising from your use of (or inability to use) the Site, including indirect or consequential losses.

Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability where it would be unlawful to do so, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or fraudulent misrepresentation.

8) Third-party services and links

The Site is hosted and operated using third-party infrastructure (such as hosting, database, and storage). The Site may link to third-party websites (including official sources). We are not responsible for third-party content or their practices.

9) Changes to the Site

We may update, modify, suspend, or discontinue parts of the Site at any time, including features, pages, or data presentation, to improve reliability, performance, or accuracy.

10) Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will post the updated Terms here and update the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the Site after changes means you accept the updated Terms.

11) Contact

If you have questions about these Terms, contact us at hello@mpfolio.co.uk.

12) Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. If you are a consumer, you may also rely on mandatory provisions of the law of your country of residence. Where permitted by law, disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
